Artist's Description

Barns are emblematic of Wisconsin. They even appear on our license plates as a symbol of our state's rural character. Historic barns are among the most visible features in our countryside and reflect our rich farming heritage. As family farming declines and suburban growth continues, historic barns are vanishing from the countryside. Rural preservationists are committed to saving barns that help express the hard work, dedication and spirit of Wisconsin's farm families.
